Weekly Recap and News - 11/02/2008

Game 2 Recap:

The Inferno played their second game of the season this past Saturday. The game unfolded like a three part play. Part 1: The Inferno came out playing sloppy. This may be in part to taking on a new formation during the week coupled with the addition of 2 new players. Whatever the reason, the sloppy play led to the opposing team scoring first. Part 2: The Inferno pulled it together, played great as a team, and scored 3 consecutive goals. Then comes Part 3: The Inferno seemed to start running out of gas as the opposing team started pressing, in the process they scored another goal. For the Inferno it became a matter of just holding on and holding on is what they did as time ran out and the Inferno had a 3 -2 victory. This game was marked by a lot of firsts; first goal, first win, first time with a new formation, and first time with 2 new players. In the end, just like last week, this team played with great character and heart. This was the beginning of, what I believe to be, many more victories this season for the Inferno.

Game 3 information:

The Inferno have their first road game this week as they travel to play Hillsborough United #3.

Saturday, 11/08 - 3:00 PM at the Ed Radice Complex.

Please be there at 2:15 PM so to allow sufficient amount of time to get ready and warm up.

From I-275 go north to Bearss Ave. turn left. Go across Dale Mabry Hwy (major intersection) as it will turn into Ehrlich Rd (Bearss), go approximately 4 miles till it dead ends into Gunn Hwy. You will be looking at Sickles High School, turn right. South Mobley Rd. will be the 1st real traffic light go left. (McDonald's on corner). Go appox. 2 miles and complex is on the left. When entering the complex, soccer is on the left, baseball is on the right.
